There are some instances of repetitive prose (don't ask me to count how many times she jammed her fist into her mouth or covered her mouth) and I don't like how the girl Katie hates for a ridiculous reason ends up dead shortly thereafter, but overall, this is a great book and much better than I expected. It's well-paced with atmospheric worldbuilding, a well-written main character, and plenty of reread value. Who knew a vampire apocalypse horror novel set in an Amish community would be so great? It was fascinating to watch the Amish devolve into almost a cult-like community out of fear too.I am sooooooo getting the sequel. I NEED IT.And if you own a Kindle, this is on sale for the rest of the month. GET TO IT.
